Anett Jaschke | Foofarawr
/foo͞′fə-rô″/ + /rɔr/
Excessive or flashy ornamentation + an onomatopoeic, maybe even cute, form of roar. The sound a dinosaur with short arms would make while trying to reach the top items in a grocery store shelf.
My name is Anett, but you can also call me Foofarawr or Foo.
I grew up in the 90s, staring at my Gameboy Color and fell in love with pixel art.
I generally love to pay tribute to the simpler days, driving through the night, only occasionally catching what’s on my Gameboy screen when passing a street light. When there was just 151 or 251 Pokémon (plus MissingNo) instead of over 1000, and I freaked out as they started to move and feel alive in Pokémon Crystal. This nostalgia is something I love to share and evoke in others as well.
I had never planned to work in the games industry, but through excessive playing of MMORPGs back in 2011, I somehow stumbled into this wonderful world.
Throughout my career I saw many sides of how games are made, ranging from QA and Localisation, Production, Community Management, Customer Support to Marketing and Publishing until landing and finding myself at home with UI/UX Design. With my background in Graphic Design and a keen eye for detail, I always aim and at accessible interfaces and inclusive user experiences.
I LOVE all things art and design and have a hard time deciding on just one hobby alone. I love to get involved with woodworking, linocut printing, ironing beads, cross stich, pixel art, illustration, graphic design, print design, UI design and the next passion is probably just around the corner (hey, have you heard of tufting?)
Besides art, I am deeply in love with Galgos, the Spanish Greyhounds. I occasionally play drums, love Sushi a bit too much and have names for all my 110 plants. Anyone trapped with me in a video call may also catch a glimpse of my Cactuar collection!
If you want to discuss a project with me, please do get in contact and don’t forget to send dog pictures!
